I was wondering how to jack up the Viper to remove the wheels, etc. I have a four post lift with cross bars so that I can use bottle jacks. I also have a traditional 3.5 ton rolling floor jack. A search of the forum confirmed that, strangely enough, the manual contains no info about this. The best post I could find from a few years ago was this:
"there are jacking points under the car(solid to frame) funny thing is the owners manual does not tell you where they are! Have your viper tech show you the spots, they are directly in front of rear wheel and directly behind front wheel. good luck."
I put the Viper back on the lift and noticed some downward pointing triangular metal protrusions near the side sills. Also, further in were some black metal or plastic circles. Can anyone confirm that one of these is the jacking point? Also, is it safe to use a traditional bottle jack or cup-style floor jack or do people buffer the jack by putting piece of wood or plastic between the car and the jack?
