JUST FIRED THE SNAKE UP AND.............

when I turned the key on (not starting the engine) both my RPM gauge and my speedo maxed out for like 1 second and then went back to normal, however the car started up fine,cant drive it but it idled fine.

Is this normal, I have never noticed it this ever happen to any of you guys?

Probably just some relay that is sticking a little due to the cold.
I'm guessing you don't have it in a heated garage.

If the car is at outdoor temperature, I'd avoid starting it in really cold weather. Start it up on a little warmer day.

I had the same problem STU. Was my crank sensor.
