I bought a K & N FIPK kit for my 2001 RT/10, the kit says 95-98 Vipers but Viper Tech says no big deal, he's put on numerous kits on 01's. I'm really struggling getting the thing
installed, had it off & on 2 times, it just does not want to fit properly, and suggestions???:omg:

Call your Viper Tech and ask him what he did to get it to fit. There's some trick to it but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. Try searching the forums as I know this kit has been discussed here.

The fit problem is the new "tubes" seem to push the box forward to much, which in turn does not allow the actual filters to fit properly in the box, once they are attached they do not seat proberly in the lower portion of the box, so when you close the hood, it does not shut properly, tried inverting filters also, no help:omg:

I remembered!!! The solution, I was told, was not to use this kit.I remember when I got my Viper and found this kit on the web. EVERY vendor I talked to, including K&N, told me it wouldn't fit my '01 RT/10. SnakeOyl has this kit in carbon fiber which supposedly fits but there was no way in heck I'd pay what they were asking for on their site. All Carbon Fiber Induction Box 1992-02 :: Air Filters & Induction :: Engine & Exhaust :: Snake-Oyl Products :: Dodge Viper Products, Parts, Accessories

The description does state something about fitment: "On Any Viper that has the updated centered radiator fan module - some modification is required."

If I were to do it over again, I'd spend the money on a JMB Performance airbox. It's not much more than a K&N, looks MUCH better and will save you a lot of time and installation headache.
