large leak in evaporative system???

what are all the things that can set this check engine light off??

(0455) = large leak in evap system

idle is also very rough and labors at times

any help guys?

The engine light seems to only come on after a cold start,and also i hear an unusual hiss when i hit the gas.

When monitored: Immediately after a cold start, with battery/ambient temperature between 40 deg. F and 90 deg. F and coolant temperature within 10 deg. F of battery/ambient.

What did he say?

The most common cause: Loose gas cap!
Vacuum line off?

this happend the first time after i changed my gas cap to a locking gas cap and i changed back to he stock gas cap and the light still comes on, so i know the gas caps fine now.

Its normal for that to come on after a cold start?

also i changed my vacume element/filter in the air box yet i don't see the car as having on in the book maybe its not susposto be there?
