Yesterday at Moroso my front calipers started blowing fluid on my final lap. Having not pulled the wheel yet this morning I'm suspecting my front calipers are completely shot. My brakes are gone. Upgrades are $$$. What are your feelings about getting some stock knock offs until a better time for upgrades? Or should I bite the bullit and make the upgrade now?

I would recommend that you call Sean Roe (Jacksonville) and discuss your situation with him...pick an option that suits you...maybe upgrade in steps. Good luck.

I had the same thing happen in the middle of a track weekend a few years ago. The pads were low. I had previously run pads all the way down to the backing plate w/o leaks (you've all done it... admit it), so I started thinking I was done for the weekend without new seals. Steve from AutoForm said replacing the pads would likely stop the leak (by receding the pistons into the caliper). It worked!!

The long-term fix is new seals (~$110 from TrueChoice) and Titanium pistons (~$330 from Sean Roe).

Nope, haven't done it "yet"

Motul flush and pads replaced a week before the race.

Sounds like a caliper rebuild. It's worth considering. Is it difficult to do?

Thanks for the replies. Anybody else?

We are almost done with a brake kit for the Viper ,Its a 6 piston caliper with a much lighter 13' disc, pads and brake lines from willwood. We just finshed the mounting bracket the other day .I must say it looks very cool.I will post more info when the kit is complete. One of The best things about the kit is the price, it should be around $1,100 -$1,300 so we all can afford one .I will post more info in a few weeks when the kit is finshed. We also are thinking about a rear kit later on.
