Needed to get a couple of new cell phones today (well, needed is kinda strong, but let's not split hairs...), so I figured I could run and do it at lunch.
Went to Sprint store. They weren't familiar with my business account and said I was better off to buy the phone then activate it using our special corporate service number. So, off to Best Buy I go - it was in the same shopping center. Before I could get too far through the parking lot, I am stopped by three teenagers in a car asking me to stop so they could take a picture. I pull up to a more open area and let them click away. They were from Michigan - thanked me profusely, and drove off.
Buy phones - fairly uneventful.
Head home. Must take alternate route to avoid construction. See a new Mitsu Evolution dodging traffic to catch me. Pulls up beside me and says "Great Car", to which I say - "You too!" and then he holds up a camera and asks if I can pull over so he can shoot some pictures. I say sure and we find an office building with a decent backdrop.
I get out, check out his car (first one I'd seen - bright yellow, etc.) and he takes pictures, and we chat. He was very excited to see the car and I thought the new Mitsu was cool too, with nice Brembo calipers front and rear, Recaro seats, etc. Tell him I need to get back to work, and we go our separate ways.
Granted, my car is a rolling circus (the stars and stripes car) but it always puts a smile on my face to drive and I get to meet some great car people. Not bad for a 7 year old Dodge, huh? I sure will miss it when it's gone.
