I went and got some thick steel straps. I had a hell of a time bending them. I am thinking of getting a breaker for bending metal soon.

I ordered my half shaft loops from Summit, but decided I would try to fabercate my own drive shaft loops. It took me about 65 minutes to do and about $15 in parts. I made the welds extra thick,....nothing is going to break this..it's rock solid.

I doubt if I will ever break a drive shaft, but better to be safe than sorry.

I ended up painted it red...don't ask why..I think I may paint it black..not too keen on the red..but anyways here are the results of it. :D

Not bad. I hope to hell you had the car on jack stands and didn't trust the jacks alone? Hate to have the car fall on you. Some guy this past summer was working on his car with just jacks holding the car up. Well, he died of massive internal injuries as a result of the jacks loosing pressure. Good job though.

yep, I had jack stands...in the back and that bucket up front..LOL!.

If the jacks did fail, I would be okay since I was in the rear.

I will chip in a few bucks so that you can exhange the bucket for a real set of jackstands. I wonder what the rating is on that 5-gallon bucket... 200 pounds ;) ?

I bet the rating would be higher if you flipped the bucket upside down!

You'd be amazed at how strong home depot buckets are! I've got 4 holding up my trailer home. LOL

Nice Job ab!
