Magnaflow Advice Needed

Just bought my 98 GTS last weekend. I love this car!!! I am looking into changing the way that it sounds and removing the cats. It has a muffler delete with small tail pipes.
My idea was to put a 6" magnaflow bullet in the sill and an X pipe in front of a set of 4" tail pipes tail pipes. Has anyone done this? What length bullet did you use? Results? I am not looking to go crazy with the car, would 2 1/2 be ok?
