Hi everybody.. After a couple month of searching I finally made a decision and settle with a 2001 Dodge Viper GTS.

The cabin get's crazy heat inside after 15 mins of drive or so. Summer is here and I don't want to get toasted inside.:)

I went to a local Muffler shop and they carried 3in. Magnaflow Hi-Flow Cats. Was wandering what are some of the recommendation you guys will go for (magnaflow one?) and what are some of your opinion and HP gains on the Magnaflow. The guy there wants $250 installed. I forgot to asked whether it's for one side or for two side...

Thanks Guys.!

Oh and I know by deleting the cat all together will give it an Ice Cold sills, but I'm in California so smog can be a really hassle.

BTW my current set up is:

-Edelbrock Headers
-Borla full exhaust that meets to the stock cat.

I think cats have a HP rating IIRC. Check to see what they are rated for first.

Compare them to the random techs

hmmm. I hear Random Tech Hi-Flow are not that great.

I'm looking at the Hi-Flow Cat from Sean Roe Racing website and was also told that all of Seans Hi-Flow Cats are Random Tech. But I see on the forum some people comparing the two? (a Roe High Flow and Random Tech?)

I've never heard of anyone here using the MagnaFlow cats, but I imagine they'd be good quality. $250 is a great price if it's both sides.

I don't know where or why you heard Random Techs were an issue. I just installed my second set, and the first one lasted over 7 years. Got the new set through JonB for @$300. Easy install since I was doing headers at the same time.

BTW, sounds bad when you have to "settle" for a GTS....;)

ok. so the shop actually does not have a magnaflow that will fit the Viper sills. $300 is a great deal. I'll have to call JonB up. Their website shows different price tho.

haha. I know. It was def. hard deciding on a 96-99 or a 01-02'.
But I think I've made a good decision based on what I want to do with the car. :D

I've twice (two different cars) used the Random Tech Metal HF cats without issue passing smog. I did switch to catless for the track. Jon B offerred me a good deal so I got them from him and installed them on my current Gen 2.
