Max Care Warranty

I bought a 7 year/50k Max Care extended warranty at the time of purchase on my New 08. (12/31/2009)

A couple of questions:

Should I have waited until I had the car a couple of years and was closer to the manufacturers warranty running out before buying it.

Is $1500 a fair price to pay?

There is a discount if the car is less than one year old, in the purchase of your extended warranty (several hundred dollars). Chuck Tator had the best prices on extended warranties, but not sure how that works now. This was pricing I received last year, so it looks like you got a good deal.

4Y/50,000 Mile Max Care:
$100 deductible MSRP $1960 less 25% = $1470
$50 ded MSRP $2000 less 25% = $1500
$0 ded MSRP $2110 less 25% = $1582.50
[25% off expires 5/31/08] No Tax, your not in NY!

You did great if you paid $1500. My dealer wanted $4995 (ripoff).

Is there a dealer selling the MaxCare warranty at a discount out there? I need to purchase for my 08 before 3/36 expires.

You did fine and after the first year there is a mandatory $150 fee added to the cost. The other item often forgotten is that there are price increases usually every year or two , so waiting until the end could bump you up 150 to 300 dollars easily.
