Motor Gargles sometime at low RPM in 1st and 2nd gear....

Hey, I just got my car and I noticed that sometimes when I am pulling out and at a low RPM and I step on the gas, the car gargles a little and seems like she wants to stall. I was in the drive through at McDonalds and it seemed like she wanted to stall. I couldn't let that happen so I kept revving her up. Then I noticed my Service Engine Soon light was on. Pissed me off. I am buying a code checker tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas? At high RPM the motor runs fine.
