I am just wondering if the back of the factory Alpine deck on a Gen II has RCA outs so an mp3 player can be connected?

Don't you mean factory RCA "ins"? (As in "inputs"?)

No, it does not. If you need your iPod or other MP3 device, you need a different head unit. I went with a Pioneer AVIC-N1 with the iPod attachment but have yet to install it.

I have an Alpine CDA-9835 which plays MP3 CD's and you can get the Ipod module to control and play Ipod's through it. Sweet... Plus the motorized tilting head allows me to poisition the face perfectly.

Just had to add my post as another Canadian, Albertan infact.
Echo no inputs, but you could get some kind of FM modualtor device to use your mp3.

Thanks for the input. I tried an FM modulator in my other vehicle and the sound quality was lousy compared to a direct connect. I'll give it a try in the viper to see how it sounds otherwise I guess I'll have to look at one of the above decks.
