After going to several muffler shops and being told that the muffler must be on the car for alignment and the delete would cost me $250-$300 and 3 hours of my time (waiting) I have decided to do it myself.

Today I used my Dremel (do not use a Dremel for this, takes waaayy to long) to cut half the muffler casing off, exposing the internals of the beast. What I found was great, 2 pieces of resonated pipe that are capable of easily being cut out and replaced with a couple pieces of exhaust piping. Any monkey at an exhaust shop should be able to do this. I could even go super cheap and use exhaust clamps, but one side of the pipes(coming from the front) has 4-5 small holes drilled in it. I need to either have these holes covered or just cut the casing off where the pipes start and weld where the pipes come in to the case. Regardless, the way I am doing it does not require the muffler to be on the car for fitment purposes, when one side is done at a time.

Anyway, I'm glad I did this. A muffler delete shouldn't take anybody with the right tools (welder and metal cut off wheel) more than 30 minutes. Once I'm done it will look just as nice as the other deletes and have all the factory hangers in factory locations.
