My sway bar endlink bushings are bad..

I noticed my bushings were pretty ripped up (at least the rubber part) on my endlinks. Could that be the reason my car makes a "creaking" noise when backing up in the morning or pulling very slowly into a driveway at an angle? Could it be anything more serious and is it something I NEED to fix right now?
