Nice, but stop wasting your money on toys and start saving for a real one. :2tu:

I have 4 cabinets in my living room that are full of die cast Vipers, Cudas, Challengers, Daytonas and countless Hot Wheels. I even have a huge curio at my parents house with the Mopars Nationals cars, Mustangs, more Cudas, Challengers and Chargers. I could have bought another Viper with what I spent on collectibles. They collect dust, and are rarely even looked at. My kids aren't allowed to play with them, so they're pretty much useless. If I sold them all today, I'd be lucky to get back a quarter of what I paid. Are they nice to have; yes. Would I do it again; NO!

I know how you feel 99GTS - I dont plan on keeping them for the rest of my life. They will be eventually sold after I get done with school and will hopefully be used towards a REAL one. Thanks for the input :)

I just counted, and I've got over 100 in just the living room. I started collecting them years ago, and it was an obsession for a while. Fortunatly, I got to the point where I had all of them and no one was making any I wanted. I lost interest after that, and now I mostly just buy Matchbox cars for my son.

I have over 300 and I enjoy hunting for them on Ebay and in retail stores. I'm not sure how much I have ******* in them, but I'd guess $2,000 tops. Yes, its a lot of money, but I dont smoke, rarely drink and have no kids. Gotta spend $$ on something :) My dad is 60 years old, and he has a C4 Corvette that he loves and he has more model Vettes than I have model Vipers!

Seems like I read awhile back about a guy who sold a rare matchbox one-off - VW I think for $72,000 and then went out and bought a real Viper. :)

Turboice, nice collection by the way. Stay motivated and determined, work hard and work smart, and you'll have a real one someday.

I remember that story too from a few years back. Pink VW MicroBus with surf boards on top I believe.

Now that's what I call a ******** diecast collector, someone who will pay $72k for a hotwheel!
