Hi,

Well i've been lurking here for about three months and I think i found the car for me. Its a 2001 Rt in Maryland... problem is Im in California. This brings me to a few questions hopefully someone out there can help me with.

1) Can someone run a carfax for me? Vin 1B3ER65E01V700755

2) I live in Los Angeles and the car is from Maryland. Are Vipers 50 state certified or??? I called DMV and all they could tell me was to see if it passed emisions..lots a help that was. If they are not 50 state approved is there a solution or can I not purchase this vehicle?

3) I've never purchased a private party vehicle before and my regular lender , Chase, says they wont finance private party sales... anyone have an opinion on a good financer for private party? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I hadnt even considered that would be an issue..i always just finance through Chase. The owner of the car is currently financing through Chrysler.. I think I'll call them but still looking for advice.

4) Anyone in MD want to check it out?

Thanks much for all your time and help.

Jerry

Can't help you with carfax, but this car hasn't come up on my lists yet...

All *Unmolested* vehicles come from the factory 50 state legal. If she has been properly taken care of and has no mods whatsoever there should be no issues with tagging in CA.

I can personally tell you that Chase Manhattan Bank finances private party sales regularly on the East Coast. There should be no issues on the Left coast. If the bank is standing to that point (especially on a 2001 car) you need to find a new lender. Basically pick a bank you like and go. Or if you are interested in the best possible loan you may want to consider Lendingtree or maybe Eloan (if they do auto loans.) No legitimate bank should refuse a lien on a 2 year old car with a clear title.

If no one else volunteers I would take a trip across the bay to help out. There are several people in the immediate area with a better eye for spotting things though. Head to the MDVA region homepage and look for a name or ask Ron Hickely (Regional Manager) for assistance.

Good Luck.
