NEED HELP! 19\" HRE 547s or 19\" Forgeline VR-1s???

Hey guys,

I'm planning on installing 19" wheels on my car, but I'm still not sure whether to got with the HRE 547s (not the chrome finish), or the Forgeline VR-1s (full polish), like the one at DLMs booth at VOI.

Anyone have pics of their car with the Forgelines??? I need to make a decision soon!!! Please help!!!

Sorry if I'm posting someone's car on here without their approval, but these are the set of 547s that I remember seeing once on the board, but I still dont remember who's car this is! These are PERFECT! If you know what finish those wheels are in, please help! This is what I'm leaning towards!!!

Also, is this car lowered by any chance or not? If I do install 19" wheels, will the tires rub with the wheel well if I lower the car? Pics please!

You saw my car at the DLM booth. It was lowered about 1.5" for the show, and the tires did not rub. For normal driving, I lowered it about .75", and since the wheel/tire combo it about 1" taller overall it fills in nicely. They're both excellent wheels -- the forgelines are lighter, and I don't know which is more expensive.

I say get the 547s, they are a stunning wheel IMO. ESPECIALLY on your color combo....

The blue/white GTS in your pic is Jamie Furman's superchaged 96 GTS. I loved those wheels so much I just bought a set for the 00 GTS Jamie sold me. Looks sweet. Now I have a set of mint HRE 540s with Pilots for sale. Any takers?

The top GTS is mine and they are chromed. The bottom GTS is Jamie's if I'm not mistaken. Don't know if they're chromed or not. I do have 2 other friends with these wheels and theirs are not chromed. Mine look a lot better IMO. Either or they'll cahnge the look of your Viper tremendously. All the wheels on this thread look awesome!

edit: just realized you had a 2001 GTS like mine. Great color choice.

Would you, by any chance, have pics of your friends cars that have the un-chromed 547s? I would really like to see what a Viper with the unchromed 547s looks like, and whether it is the same as Jamie's or not!

I'm going to go 545's 18/19" on my Viper

Got to agree with King GTS, HRE 547's RULE!! All in all you can't go wrong with any HRE wheel, and the 545's as well as the 546's look killer in my opinion.

I only wish mine were 18".

That Maranello is BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm taking delivery of a white on lipstick red (bright red, instead of the bordeux) 575 in 2 months time!!! I cant wait

Thanks, your going to enjoy the 575, but it needs a good exhaust system. I got mine from Cargraphic, sounds better than the Tubi. My Vette has the full polished 547's.

I was actually thinking about either a Tubi or a B&B. There's also one with 6 exhaust tips which I have personally seen on a 550 in London! 3 tips on each side! It looks amazing!!! and the sound is also incredible! If you notice, there is some extra space next to the stock 2 tips which is basically plastic. This is removed when you install the exhaust system with the 3 tips on each side!

I recommend the clear coat on top of the high polish for EASY maintanence...just get a separate California Duster for your wheels, and treat them like the finish on your snake!
