I just bought one 2 weeks ago directly from dodge for my Gen I. It is being painted by body shop right now. Im sure you can still get them there. Keep in mind these things come in a huge box so shipping is very expensive.

2KViper- I should be able to get you one. Unless this is a VERY recent cutoff, no problem. I just ordered and recieved a hood pad for another customer about 2 weeks ago.

Shouldn't cost more than 125 delivered to the dealer. Take it out of the box to transport home. They are easy to paint, just mask off the outside edge/perimeter. Spray paint the recessed area with your color of choice, then, use a 1/2" brush to paint the raised area with the complimentary color. Final coat should be a layer of clear-coat.

We loved doing the painted pads, had a lot of happy customers, and good press.
New, G1-G2 blank pads are available CHEAP from Partsrack ($100) but shipping from P/R is $35 or so, and likley to damage a corner. So we QUIT them.

Your local dealer has no s/h cost!

The reason we quit the painted G1-G2 hood pads (except for SRT-10)was a shipping Catch-22: Too big for UPS. FedEx dictated dimensions they would accept, but damaged 1/3 of the pads. If we made a bigger box, FedEx refused.

We put 27 hours in each pad, made about $40 profit, and ate 1/3 of the denied claims for "insufficient packing" One CORNER would get bent, and the customer would refuse it....and FedEx would deny responsibility.

Now if you would accept a PAINTED MIDDLE SECTION Only.....(We would fold the whole pad over to protect the center) and you would unfold and cut out the center 40%. And you would somehow insert just THAT logo section. maybe we could resurrect them.

I need to get a new one also because the roe s/c melted it in one spot. Looks like crap now. Nothing could be done to keep it from melting on my polished s/c. I swithched from s/c to NOS so now I need to get the hood pad looking like it used too.

Besides I've heard a few stories that some Viper techs and reps look for the damaged hood pads now to identify if a roe s/c has been on the car.
