The Last NY/CT Old Skool Cruise of 2009:
Old Skool Captree and ******* Run
Date: Oct. 11 (Sunday)
Meeting/Spot: Carvel
Time: 9:15am

Directions To Carvel:

We are gonna meet 1 mile south of the LIE Long Island Expwy (495) off Exit 51 heading east then at the light make a right (231 South) and you will see CARVEL ICE CREAM parking lot. We will meet at 9:15 and 9:30 will be the time when we leave for Captree to meet everyone else.

There is also a ferry boat from Bridgeport CT into Port Jefferson if you dont want to do the drive. I suggest to bring a car cover to avoid salt water mist while on ferry boat. Here is the link to the ferry boat Bridgeport Port Jefferson Ferry Schedules and Information.


P.S. After we leave Captree (11am) we will then to ******* for lunch (11:30)

Florida should be nice, we always have a good time there with the kids and in-laws. They are very excited to see their grandma and grandpa....of course, doesn't hurt that they have a pool!

What's going on at Captree? (I've never been there so not really sure what's there) It's an island between Babylon and Fire Island, right?

Captree (on a nice Sunday) is probably one of the biggest gathering spots for custom, modified and/or sports cars on the east coast.
There are so many cars it can overflow two huge parking lots and almost fill a third. Virtually every possible make and model American or import is usually represented. The nicer the day, the bigger the turnout.

Mike, I'm thinking I'll need to leave Captree by 10:20 - probably barely enough time to park the car and get some pictures. The trip to New Paltz is supposed to take 2:20 (google maps), but I'm sure I'll trim at least a half hour off that. The crew up there is meeting at 12:15, so I was hoping to make it in under 2 hours
