uh that page has the best and worst 10 value holders...

we are on the BEST VALUE HOLDERS LIST!!

8. Viper Reasons it will hold value: It's a low-volume sports car that has an exotic feel and is reasonably price compared to exotic sports cars.

5 year value, $33,235??? Find me a 2003 SRT-10 for $33k with a clean title, no accident history and I will buy as many of them, as you can find.. The Viper should be #1 on this list in reality.

They are saying the price should be 38% of the list price, which for a 2003 SRT was $83,795. So the value of a 2003 would be $31,842 by their math. I don't think you could find one in bad shape for that price.

All things considered, the cars are holding well and will continue to do so. The low volume is obviously key, and now the ACR putting Viper back on top of the performance ladder is excellent publicity that we've needed for a long time. Moreover, if Chrysler wraps us up in the next few years, then we'll really see values hold firm (and likely begin to rise a few years later).

TAXIMAN1,

ALG is the indusry benchmark for residual setting and many of their customers are also banks and insurance companies. If their incorrect they want to be on the low side not the high side.

Also, those figures quoted for all the various vehicles are for cars that have 15K miles per year, so for their 5 year value that viper has up to 75K miles on it. Plus this is a wholesale guide, not a retail guide and assumes that wash it and take to an auction this is what you'd get, a very liquid number. (no visable damage, just normal wear and tear, never frame damage).

The story here is the relative ranking not the ablsolute number. As you can see there aren't any vetts, or porsche's in the top 10. Lot's of folks ***** about viper resale on this board, relative to others they do very well.
