First, a question for you: Was the ring and pinion replaced in the orginal housing or was this an exchange Dana 44 that when into the vehicle? Either way, the answer should be yes.
(And differential oil recommendation too)
You might as well replace the oil in the diff at this time. Use 45 oz of Mopar Synthetic Gear& Axle Lub 75W-140 and 4 oz of Mopar limited slip additive.
