im hoping to have my car back together in the next few weeks. then i gotta deal with getting it running and tuned. I dont like the idea of dealing with the VEC2 personally. or at least in the beginning by myself. id get into it if i were to watch over the shoulder of a competent tuner.

there used to be Bill Ma of visions of speed but he went out of biz and i cant get him to return a phone call. At one time, he said he would help tune it on someone else's dyno.

I talked to ken of paddock performance in haverstraw. he has a dyno and is good with tuning but not on a VEC2. he said he wasnt too worried about tuning it but id like to find a guy who really knows the VEC2.

and pedro is going to romar racing in that same area i think for tuning his roe car. so im waiting on his feedback too...

is there anyone in our area capable and knowledgable on tuning the VEC2 ???

PS:: i know, i know...learn the VEC

well then let someone who has no clue work on it...

there are only 3 cars out there that have used the VEC2 with a DLM system... and yours is about to be the 3rd. I wrote the program for the other 2. :)

Kyle from Romar Racing can do the VECII tuning and dynoing...he's done ours and did a fantastic job, Chuck Tator recommended him...yes, Bill Ma is no longer doing that in Poughkeepsie ~juli~

Phil,
Kyle at Romar Automotive took over for Bill Ma and he has been doing the VEC tuning! You might want JD to talk to Kyle about the programing for your setup!! "I would NOT go anywhere else!"

Don’t do it ........use AEM don’t go vec 2 you really can’t tune it the way you want. An AEM allows you to tune it much more precisely .If you think about it there are very few cars running super chargers using Vec2’s in our area that run right.

you are all crazy! None of you know WHY a vec2 is a good thing with a DLM set-up!

An AEM would do NOTHING but screw up the system!

The VEC2 does NOT do fuel control on a DLM set-up! you use it for secondary injector firing and timing retard and that is it! no primary fuel control.

That changes things quite a bit from the standard view of an AEM or VEC2.

The DLM set-up is different from all the other cars in your area that don't run right... I bet those all use bigger injectors rather than stock injectors for the primary injectors...

You mean to tell me the 102 super chargers I have done so far are not running right? Okay I have had a couple that were a little quirkie on tuning but some of that was do to the driver :smirk: .

Mine has a problem, when I step on that black thingy on the right side of the floor there is a LOUD noise and the whole car starts to shake and things start to get sucked right by the windows. I feel this pressure in my chest and things get blurry and, well, if I didnt press the other black thingy on the floor..... I just don't want to think what might have happened...

I'm bringing it in to be looked at.

I had a paxton with a DLM hi hp kit and a vec 2 with no issues. The reason I had to use a vec 2 was b/c I had no cats and a modded exhaust and couldn't get enough fuel. With the vec 2 I was able to open the injectors (pulse) and get that extra fuel I needed. Worked great!!!!

Now With the Twins I don't Need the Vec 2 b/c I have A fuel sys with bigger injectors, rails, lines, pumps (and Its a return style) but its alot cheaper and easier to do it via vec 2 (with a gen 3)
