I have an 05 that I bought in January this year and I am having the darndest problem. After I took delivery I was able to drive it a few times before we got hammered with snow here in KY. Since then the beast has been sleeping safely in it's cave. I took it out today and found that the car won't stay under 80mph not matter what I try. It may be user error but cann't be for sure. I see a car ahead and the veins in the hood seem to radiate with anger :curse: . Is this normal for a new viper owner too experience and will it ever go away? I HOPE NOT? :2tu: :D

Fear not my good friend. You have a mild case. Soon it will be 125 as the norm. This happens when the asphalt starts to warm up and you meet with other Vipers coming out of hibernation. It only gets better from here!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the Viper Nation.

Thanks for the caution :nono: . I talked to a local friend who gave me the same advice that I am following! I am just amazed that it's absolutley NO effort to be at 80mph and it seems likeily that there is probably no effort until 150mp at least for the car but thats me talking and no real world experience on it. Hope to learn a lot at ViperDays in May! Wish someone had warned me that keeping this car garaged during winter was going to be so freaking hard.

Speed is a drug and the viper fulfills that need for speed. Like they say in racing circles, Speed costs money, How fast do you want to go!

This Saturday will be three weeks since I purchased my '06 Viper Coupe. Coincidentally, that's how long it's been since I drove it. :( Sadly, the roads in Eastern Pennsylvania are still covered with salt.

Though when the time does finally come, I have a feeling I'm going to experience a similar problem.
