Paint Advice Needed

I'm going to repaint my 03 vert and looking for paint reccomendations from any professional/ non-professional painters out there. The car is currently silver with new 08 hood and front bumper. Has anyone done a color change and can give me some advice. I'm thinking about an ACR scene like another member posted in another thread.

My question is what paint systems work the best with the combination of different materials that we have on our cars.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Automotive urethanes (base/clear) are the norm. PPG, DuPont, Standox are all great companies and there are many others. For custom painting (kandies, pearls, flakes) House of Kolor. I will be refinishing my '06 blue/silver coupe in a short while and will be using Standox which comes standard on Mercedes and Porsche. DuPont and PPG products are found on most U.S. cars.

Talk to you refinisher about the paint he uses and his application. Make sure you talk to previous clients before you submit to taking your car to a certain person. If the painter uses a pearl basecoat (i.e. GTS Blue or SSG) a little more care has to be taken when repainting. I will be painting my car SSG and in order to do it right, every panel will be removed from the car, painted, cleared, sanded and will be jigged back on the car. It will be sprayed once again (green) for the pearlescent paint to lay correctly. The panels will be removed and cleared. After they are cured, they will undergo a three step sanding process and a four step polishing process. Emblems will be removed and replaced with airbrushed ones and the stripes will run through the plate area (similar to '96 GTS) and will be under the clear. The car will have a factory appearance but to a Viper owner/enthusiast he or she will notice the difference.
