I never liked the red(ish) calipers on my SSG 2009, so I decided to paint them.
It is just like a colonoscopy - The preparation is a beeeaauch!, but the procedure isn't too bad. LOL

I just got mine back from having them powder coated. Yours look great! What paint/procedure did you use?

I used Mopar SSG paint, and automotive clear coat. I used the same rattle can paint on my engine compartment.
Heat should not be a problem on the calipers as I do not track the car. I've always wondered why the didn't use SRT-10 on the calipers, so I added that.

Hey old man ( :D ), are those vinyl decals you put onto those calipers? Do you think they will hold up to the heat?

I haven't heard of people having issues with decals as long they were put on correctly. Mine have never had an issue, and they have a LOT of track days on them. I did a couple of coats of clear over them though, just to be safe.

Yes, young'un, they are silver leaf, like they use on lawyer's office doors. Oops, lawyers can afford Gold. Me - just silver.
Heat? I just go. Not much stopping unless she's really nice looking.
Not tracking the car, so heat shouldn't be a problem

Did you completely disassemble the calipers before painting?

Seems like you would have to ...

No, I did not take them apart.
I plugged the one fluid inlet.
I cleaned them up with gas, then acetone using Q-tips in hard areas.
Then preped with 800 grit.
Two coats SSG Mopar paint.
Four clear coats using 2000 grit between coats.
I did paint the back sides, even though you can't see that side when installed, but then I wash and wax the inside of my rims
too. Anal! - LOL
I am in the process of painting the emergency brake calipers, but not removing them.

I finally got enough paint to finish and do the emergency calipers too.
Installed.
Amazingly, some people take note that they are green?
