Hey guys and gals:

My Paxton belt tensioner assembly took a crap today and I need one quick.

I have tried to cross reference the part number without much success. I imagine this is an off the shelf part of some kind. Anyone have any info on a possible replacement without going through Paxton?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would contact Doug Levin and buy his improved tensioner. Otherwise getting a replacement from Paxton may be the only option. I doubt it is an off the shelf part.

For sure call doug. I wouldn't even bother replacing it with another stock or you will eventually run into the problem again. The stock one is weak.

All I'll say is that it WAS very slow for a couple of hours. Jack stands will do that...

But now that it's back on the road it's a different story. I'm rippin' those yellow cars to pieces... :D :bolt:

:pbt:

BTW, NAPA tensioner part number 38114 will work for the Gen II Paxton kit in a pinch. It needs some "slight" modification but works nonetheless.

Good to hear NAPA sells something that works on our cars!:)

Like 'em or not, (I know a lot of the "OEM Only" guys don't) NAPA has a surprising selection of Viper parts. Or, for the "engineering" minded, they have a bunch of parts that can be made to work on a Viper. :D Sometimes it pays to know a parts book.
