:usa: We just finished another Paxton Supercharger installation on a 1997 GTS. :2tu: In general we have found that the creampuffs made more power with the base kit (probably a function of the shorter duration cam and different rod ratio on the 2000-2002 cars.) Obviously the forged piston cars have more potential because they can run a higher boost level with safety.
This particular car was stock, except for headers, highflow cats and 1.7 rocker arms. It made 599.8 RWHP and 592.5 RW Torque. The car feels very strong and the drivability is very good

We tuned the air fuel for best power and safety. If you look at the air fuel & boost data logging (Below) you will see that the car makes best power in the 12.0 – 12.2 AIF range. We tune it FAT on top for safety.

For those interested in a ROE Supercharger (which we also install). Here is the comparison of a ROE to Paxton setup (Both running 7 PSI) The first run is a Paxton setup. Second run (stock car before the ROE supercharger) both cars had the same mods. Third run is after the ROE supercharger. You can see that the ROE system makes much torque HP down low 2000-3500, and then from 4000 to 6000 RPM the Paxton Setup makes much more torque and HP. Remember, this is just our experience with two cars and your results may vary. But this is nice for those who want a comparison.
We like both systems

Dan, the colors are a bit mixed up... took me a while to figure out *** was going on... check the 5252 points... :)

edit: actually, they arent so much mixed up (if you look at the legends on the axes), they are just really unfortunately confusing colors :(

Oh man! I can't say enough about Dan's work and the car....
Meticulous install. This thing is a beast of a daily driver. Completely streetable on crappy Cali gas.
No traction in 1st & 2nd with my damn 19's, but when it finally hooks third, it pulls like a ***** ape!!! I don't know how you 800+hp guys do it on the street!

Thanks again Dan and Chris!

Dan does great work. Those are interesting SC results.

Throttle control, and mental restraint. Or a spare pair of Purner 18"s with BFG drag radials... that works too :)

Another powerful S/C'd Viper on the street! :2tu:
congrats--next mod should be Kumhos!

How about tuning that same car with the AEM and seeing what the results are?

Interesting. My Roe car (1999)has stock headers and stock rocker arms and pulled 615 rwtq. I wonder if headers make any difference?

I believe that SUN RA KAT is over 600 on both now(HP & TQ). I think he is still on the 5lbs pulley, but hopefully he'll clarify.

Sweet! Can you tell me how you tune a paxton car to achieve the a\f that you want. Since I just got one, I do not have a clue. Are you using a vec1 or 2??
Thanks

I would be interested to see what year the viper is that has the roe on it.

I know 1tony1's car has 620rwhp and 630rwtq @ 7lbs of boost w/o nitrous.

Trent ,from vegas, has over 600rwhp/tq @7lbs of boost on a creampuff.

THose are some great numbers from the paxton. I think competition is good and makes everything better. When I bought my supercharger there was nothing else available except a custom job from a tuner.

We are only going to see more and more power out of these kits which will be great for the future of fast vipers.

All the best Dan. Missed you in vegas.

I should be at SAE corrected 605 rear wheel horsepower at 93 octane and 614 rear wheel horsepower with 94 octane gas. I'm still on the stock 5 pound pulley. Mods are S&B air filters with 70mm smooth tubes, 70 mm throttle bodies, Roe Supercharger #35, 8.5mm Magnacore spark plug wires, Roe VEC2 with latest updates, Belanger 1 3/4" tube headers, Random Tech metal substrate cats, Corsa 3" cat back, MOPAR T&D 1.7 roller rockers, lightweight flywheel, and 180 degree thermostat.

Sean Roe has more improvements planned for his system coming soon, but I'll let him announce what they are. My Viper Tech also advised me to get a custom tuning like what Larry Macedo does when he can get a dyno for a day near a track event (Sean Roe can do the same at his business in Florida and so can Larry Macedo) and he custom programs the VEC2 programming cards. I haven't done that yet, but on Tony's Viper (the other Viper my Tech works on) his gas mileage went way up and there was almost no soot on the inside of the tailpipes and the Air/Fuel Mix was perfect for supercharged safety.

Just a note on those results. Every car is a little diferent, some make more power than others. We will do some more tuning on that ROE car and see how it does.
The main focus of the thread is to compare the torque and hp curves, information everyone has been asking for. It looks like each kit has it's own strong points. This can let you make a educated decision on which way you want to go.

Lawrence, you shim the FMU to play with fuel pressures.

Wouldn't this be a better comparison if the Roe set up had an intercooler as well? That would be a better apples to apples comparison.

You can't compare something that isn't out. So comparing kit against kit is fair (for now ;) )

True, but because of its design, I don't think a twin screw compressor needs an intercooler and lower boost levels. That is why I like twin screws. Would an intercooler even help a Roe at only 5-7 psi? Besides timing.
