Just got back from a Fantastic weekend in Spa, Belgium A joint event organised by Freddi of the VCA. German, Swiss, Dutch, English, French and Flemish Viper owners got together for the Spa Classic motorsport weekend. Pictures Here ... https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157653412511292 Enjoy.
I have been going to Le mans for years and thought it to be the ultimate track, but Spa was Awesome, the relaxed atmosphere, small crowds made the whole event very friendly and the only time it rained was after our track session
Fantastic! I would love to drive my Viper in Europe sometime. I especially loved the sticker "2.0L is a softdrink not an engine size"
looks like great fun! Pitty I didn't know, is around the corner, I would have come by and say hello. love the 2 liter sticker...
Oh No, thats bad news Shame the word did not get around You really did miss a good one But all is not lost, the UK Guys are planning a 3/4 day Euro Viper event in the UK around the Silverstone Classic around the 21st July 2016 ALL Viper Owners and Viper Clubs welcome.
Lol... Sorry to hijack the thread... I sent the viper pic with the 2.0 liter statement to all my friends with 4 cylinders and had a good laugh. Ii think denniskgb hit it on the nose for me... If you got a viper you're ok with me! I'll stay out of the beef
I honestly didn't know the viper had such a huge following in Europe. Is it the only American car with a cult following, or are there corvette guys, mustang guys and so on?
Mustangs are very popular, we get invited to there club meets, we have also been invited to attend the Corvette Nationals in the UK. Hundreds of Corvettes here, but only around 70 Vipers if that? in the UK. Sweden is really into American muscle and have a Big Power meet once a year.
Some footage taken from inside an old E Type Jag of our track session, The Vipers start to feature at 03:29 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY4L-qsvHm4 The Video also features a Spinning RT/10 .....Woops!
Over here in the netherlands, there are just a handfull of Vipers, hundreds of Corvette's though. i owned a 65 Mustang and took a peak at a Z06, but decided I had to buy another Viper instead...there isn't much of a thing between the American brands though, we see the American muscle as one group, mosty because there are so few of them. even with them hundreds of Vette's you will not likely see one on the streets...so when we do see each other we wave friendly and if possible stop and have a chat...I even take my Viper to Porsche, Ferrari and Vette club meetings and I am very welcome at all of those! there isn't a Vipercommunity in the Netherlands...I know of 3 other Viperdrivers
Wow. It's an eye opener, and awesome thought that these cars were done so well that there is a global following! Huge engine, huge power. Loved by all! what about camaros, any classic metal of them across the pond? Challengers or chargers?
all of them are pretty rare over here and most of all, very expensive...hellcat on Dutch licenseplates will be around 200.000 euro's...we pay tax per CO2 gram/km...American cars aren't very good at that point new Viper on plates will be even more expensive, that's why they aren't sold through normal dealers The classics are far more tax friendly and are driven way more over here, but mostly not on a daily basis. When you see one in the wild, you are the exception, the good old American V8 sound turns a lot of heads over here, drive a Viper and you feel like a superstar...
Haha. I still feel like a superstar here in my viper. I get guys all the time saying "rev it!!" Or "burn 'em!!" And I think to myself... Hmmm $400 a tire for your enjoyment... Nahhhh. I do enjoy kids just standing and staring though, that's my favorite.
Fredi does an AMAZING job for the VCA! He really spends a lot of time in advance to plan these Viper gatherings. We could all learn from his attention to detail. Thanks for the great pictures. It sure is great to see folks out there enjoying each others company and tearin' up the roads in their Vipers!
