I just put the Roe adjustable fan control on my 94'. It works as it should except it cycles on and off after the car is shut down. It will run for about 5 min. then turn off, then comes back on and continually does this for about 20 - 30 min. I understand that the underhood temps continue to build after shut down, but was expecting the fan to run for a few minutes then just turn off. Is this normal or does something not sound right.

Thanks. - Ron

Very normal...mine goes through this exact process..this is what it is designed to do...help with heat sink after the engine is stopped.

Thanks for the replies. How much draw will this have on the battery. Do I have to worry about a dead battery?

No it will not drain the battery. Not sure of the exact draw but if you open your hood after you drive and/or place a fan in front of the fascia it will cool faster and more efficiently.

Consider a battery tender or trickle charger if your concern is that great.

Anything that runs when the car isnt charging will put a drain on the battery. Helping it fail prematurely.... and the viper is pretty sensitive to low amps/volts.

Has anyone actually had a documented dead battery and the culprit was simply the Roe Fan Kit? Doubtful. Probably never.

Just put a trickle charger on it when you dont drive it. Nuff said.

I have used the Roe fan kit for the past few years......no battery issues at all. I use a Deltran Battery Tender when the car is not in use and the battery is at full charge within an hour or so after the fan has cycled on and off several times throughout the day. In fact, on long weeend drives with the club, over a three day period, starting/stopping numerous times, no battery issues what so ever! Sean is an expert on vipers and would not sell something that caused you battery problems!! The roe fan kit is a great mod.:drive:

Explaining Viper things to you
I do have a fan in the garage so when I pull in it's Roe squared. I also have an Interstate Megatron battery and with the fan running up to 20 minutes after ignition off, no issues.
