Quick 'n easy driver door spring fix

I'm like all cool car owners. We don't mind spending money but when the outer handle return spring broke on my 04 I was stunned! $328.00 for an assembly! All I wanted was the spring! Just couldn't do it! After a few minutes scrabbling around the shop I found a compression spring. At approximately 1.5 x 3/8" it fit under the handle. I backed out the screw at the bottom put the spring over it to hold and put a dab of silicone seal at the top. Works fine and now can spend the money on something else more fun!
