I'm about to purchase a SRT 10!! Another Vette to Viper guy.

Quick question, if i'm correct all 2004 SRT's have red calipers as standard and the trunk carpet as standard as well, correct? The reason i'm asking is because i see alot of '04 Vipers being sold with black calipers and am wondering if they are trying to sell an '03 for a '04 price.

This is being listed as a '04 but is it?

Thanks in advance and i'm learning ALOT from all you guys/gals!

Yes, that's correct.

It appears to be a 2003. You could always check the VIN just to be sure.

Interestingly, IF the VIN is indeed correct, car runs via Dodge self serve recall site as a "2004"...so, the question is...why the black calipers???...repaint?, REBUILD??? retro-swap?...or, we are wrong about caliper color as a marker of the year??? You MUST run this through a Carfax AND a Dodge dealers computer BEFORE you get too excited, in my opinion. Good hunting !!

could be a on file picture, car was made nov 19 at 7am of year 2003, in service date 2/04, books show 2004, maybe who ever had it sold the trunk kit and boot, alot of guys seem to do that as do dealers. they make a extra $500 on the car by doing this. brake calipers should be red. make sure to run a car fax and have someone check for any damage from any wrecks. the car is under factory warranty so that should help. also write down the vin # and go to a dodge dealership, go to the service counter and have them run a vip report, they know what that is, it will tell all about any service work and who was the first owner, where it was purchased and confirm in service date. good luck, hope this helps. i to was a former vette owner, now welcome to the other side. :2tu:

Frank-

Just received my SRT last Saturday. Still have my 02 Vette Coupe to sell. The SRT is quite a different beast! Careful not to get in trouble. I was pulled over instantly on the way driving the car home (got a little heavy on the right foot). Didn't get a ticket though ... lucky I talked my way out of it the car beeing new and all.

Enjoy your new ride. I've only driven mine for 2 days and have been out of the country. Can't wait to drive it again.

The vette is tamed in comparison. Just survive the first 30 days without getting into trouble and u'll be ok. Everyone from motorcycles, a kid on the bicycle to a bus driver will want to race you... just remember, save the glory on the race track!

Good luck on your purchase.

Buy my silver 2003 - it has the truck kit and the proper grey calipers. :)

Probably could arrange bringing it to Texas if that's where you are....

It's posted in the classifieds - $67,500
