I have a jack and four jackstands available to me. My question is do I jack the car up on the crossbar between the front frame rails, and the back of the car up by the differential center section. Or is there a better safer way to do this? Or should this car be only lifted by a 4 point car hoist? Any one whos done this before please pm me. Your help is much appreciated, Thank you!

I did a write up on this when I installed my new engine mounts. It can be found here toward the bottom of the thread, Part II. http://forums.viperclub.org/showthread.php?t=603840 I'm able to slide my floor jack under the front fascia and jack up the front-end using the cross member. On the rear, I can jack up using either side of the frame rails. You'll see a reference to this in the thread. Be careful with your jack stands, make certain they can handle the load and will not fall over. My Craftsman jack stands did the job OK but I ended up buying SUV jack stands. Much sturdier. Good luck.

ViperTony,

That was a very comprehensive article you did....I hope someday Viper Magazine includes articles like this that members submit.

Thanks for the detailed write up. It was really simple with your step by step instructions.
I'm back on the road and the car feels great:drive:
