Is it still an Alpine, will it fit on a 97 GTS, and does it have the speed sensor?

I have no idea if it fits GenII. It's MY 05 stock radio. Little different face then previous models, higher output. It's Sirius ready. It does not have speed sensor.

No. The '03 and up radio is Siemens VDO.

will it fit on a 97 GTS,

No. Vipers prior to '03 need a single-DIN radio.
