Resetting the alarm

[97 B/W GTS]

From other postings, this is what I did:

• Key in the ignition. OFF-ACC x 4. Leave the key in ACC.
• open/close both doors, hatch and hood. 2 beeps for confirmation after each open/close.
• With the key still in the ACC position, I pushed both buttons on key fob at the same time.

Then I got a bunch of beeps (3 I think) and the dash gauges all started blinking. Is this supposed to happen? Cause it wouldn't start after this proceedure.

Did I miss anything in this proceedure?
