The real liar has been protected and RMS took the wrap.

Neither Scott at RMS nor Viper23 are guilty of any attempt to defraud fellow members.

It's not my battle so I'm out - but I want to say how sorry I am that I took the bait and made the allegation I did against RMS - and I want to make sure that any harm that might have been done to RMS as a result of anything I said can be undone.

I'm a fool for speaking too soon and have learned a lesson. Apologies to the forum members.

The real story has been an eye opener.

We all got ripped off by our current Viper vendors that we have supported by spending all our money with in the past.

They just cost all of us wanting headers hundreds of dollars on a single set of headers buy making a few phone calls to Lou B and killing the deal RMS had working.

Anyone who missed it can catch up on it in the post titled "RMS is the header scammer, not Viper23"

However, I did find an authorized Belanger Dealer yesterday that sold me a set for $1,600.00 plus shipping. That seems to be $195.00 better than any website I found them on currently.

I think it is ****** that current vendors keep the prices inflated in this manner. Lame ethics.. very lame. It really ****** me off that this is a clear case of aftermarket prices being regulated by the vendors.

Now I see the truth...I called Jon B for a price on Belangers.......I tell him about the $1480 group buy....he got all excited and immediately is dialing Belanger's company with me on a 3 way call....now this is making sense...Jon B was hissy fitting, about the low ball prices..... to grab a sale with me.....and sent me numerous emails and offers...( very high pressure style)I do remember the 3 way conversation( Me , Jon, and Lou B) very clearly, and Now I see what happened...jon was very persistant to make this 3 way conversation , I did not ask for it, ....Lou B, was accomodating jons request(in my presence)...and jon was acting like HE was the biggest and best Belanger dealer on the earth

So there you have it guys, our own vendor killed this deal to prosper himself...

Vipermad used the word "Pressure" in the other post on this topic as part of the reason this deal fell through after he made 5 hours of phone calls investigating this. It is now clear where this pressure came from.

I had the same thing happen when I bought my Corsa cat back several years ago. I had a deal with a retailer who deals with mostly Vettes but was capable of getting the Viper Corsa product. The price was much better than the usual suspects. To cut the story short, when the folks at Corsa found out that this retailer was going to substantially cut the price they basically denied him access to the product. Sounds very similar to the Belanger header adventure.

p.s. I hate to say it but this both strengthens and loosens my respect and love for the Viper community. It *****, and is " f-ing " lame to know somebody so "respectable" could do something so incredibly WRONG!! But at same time, it's awesome that there are so many more people unlike this one.

My concern here is that 2 innocent parties were left out to dry with reputations and a business in the balance...all over $16K in parts. I'd bet a nickel that this will have a negative effect with a value far exceeding $16K.

2Badd, thanks for digging into this. I believe this will be an eye opener for our community. I'm with Francisco in that I'd like to hear from the vendor on the bubble.

Assuming it is all true, we know what JonB should say. Then we know there would have to be an explanation for this action taken. Fact is, this has NOTHING to do with headers or money in and of itself. This is soley disturbing because of the insincere ability of a wealthy businessman to try and "fudge up" two people for a little more pocket change.

Sounds like Lou B. isn't what everyone thinks. I agree with Chris this man has some statements to account for also. Doesn't know who Scott is yet this man is and has been a Belanger dealer. Scott claims he talk to Lou B. himself. Something still fishy here and maybe Mr. B. was stretching the truth a little to cover his own tail. If you make a mistake with your dealer reps live up to your word and honor the deal that was made. Then to make your other dealer reps happy offer them the same deal. Seems that Scott and Viper 23 are clean. So John was ******** about the deal Lou gave to Scott and rightfully so, unless if John gets the same pricing as Scott which would be fair as both are legitimate dealers. My problem lies with Mr. B. he was the one who got caught giving better deals to one vendor verses another. However it is his company to do as he pleases but by all means stand up to your deals and clear up your own problems with other dealer reps you may have pi$$ed off.
Thanks TQ for the apology. We all jump the gun sometimes but I know in your heart you wanted to right that which was wrong. In the end you did just that. We are more clear with the whole situation and I hope the person or persons responsible for this situation are able to fess up and make right on these issues.

Perhaps other vendors called too, ...viper23 said he had over 70 posts, maybe others called also, as I am sure most interested parties found out sooner or later....(and these interested parties called their favorite vendors , the one they usually deal with). Why... Jon b told me he had gotten 3 calls already about the scam and 1480 price....

...So Lou B was showing his dedication to Parts Rack, with me listening on the phone 3 way call(that Jon B set-up)..
So there you have it all now Guys! If your'e going to do a group deal,it should be offered to all vendors...

I'll have to make an apology to RMS and viper23 also.

I made a mistake and believed what Lou Belanger is reported to have said.

And now it looks like Lou Belanger probably lied about RMS.

If Belanger was offering a lower price to another distributor, I don't have a problem with JonB calling them on it. It would irritate me too if I was a distributor.

OK, the thing is, this story has gone from looking like a guy trying a scam,

to a guy getting scammed without knowing it,

to two guys getting cut off from a deal that they thought they had made.

And now, it look's like a number of people on this site talked to a guy who knew exactly what was going on but told them another story.

If that last one turns out to be true, then he has caused all of this and on top of that, made the first two guys look like crooks.

I don't care about Viper tax. Any manufacturer or dealer should be able to set whatever price the want to ask. Price and protecting dealers from undercutting might be what caused this but that's not what it is about at this point.

Two guys got raked over in this deal because a reliable source said their story wasn't the truth. I believed the story that Belanger didn't know TNT and TNT wasn't a Belanger dealer.
Who got me to believe that?

Well since Belanger has now dropped me as a dealer..I'll post this up. Any manufacturer offering the kind of dealer support he DIDN't offer to me..I'd rather not be involved with anyway. What's funny is that the letter reads request for for authorized dealership...I already WAS!

I'll say it now in light of these events. Lou Belanger is the one who let me the dealer down and caused everone to yell SCAM. Then he sat there and let my name be drug in the dirt. I guess this is how he washes his hands of it. Thanks Belanger!
