RT/10 console door rattle

Thought my rear speaker in the console was blown. Took off the grille and it is fine. Noticed the rattle is coming from the console door. Anyone come up with a way to eliminate the door from rattling? When I open the door, speakers sound just fine.

This may sound silly but did you check to make sure all the screws were tight. It is possible one is loose or the cause may be in the key slot... other than this I have no clue.

Can was assume it is not latching firmly?

Screws are tight. I tried moving the striker plate as far back as I could to tighten up the door but there is not enough adjustment. My next thought was to try some "bumpers" to hold tension on the door so it won't rattle.

It should have come with bumpers. 2 little holes to the sides of the latch plate. I actually had to remove them on my '01 GTS to get the door to latch, coupled with some additional slotting of the screw holes to further adjust the latch plate.
