For those of you who are savy with current market conditions/pricing.

What would be a fair price to pay for a '96 RT/10 w/double bubble and A/C in 'showroom condition' with less than 7k on the odometer? Not looking for an unrealistic low-ball number, but rather a realistic expectation in today's soft market. Very desireable color combo. Head gaskets have not yet been done. No current warranty in effect.

thanks,

What color combo? Where is it located? How are the tires? Will the A/C system need charging? All these things will play into it.

I'd say ~$35k.

$39-$45, but make sure it comes with a warranty! Build it into the price, especially if the head gaskets have not been updated.

Baystate Motorsports had a white / blue 96 with low 7k miles on their website for 47k then lowered the price on an ebay auction to 43k. Had hard top and smooth-tubes, 2 owner car with a clean CF. NADA figures are listed below:
Low Retail Average Retail High Retail
$33,600 $36,200 $40,100
Air Conditioning add: $600 $900 $1,200
Total Price $34,200 $37,100 $41,300
Baystates sister franchise Naples Motorsports in Naples FL has a white 96 w/ 20k but CF reveals a front end collision with a fixed object reported in FL.
If you are financing, these are the figures that most banks use to lend on.

Tires all around are now about a $500 deal. Head gasket re-do is probably $2k or less. The top is worth about $1600 or so. As far as I'm concerned the 7k miles isn't worth any more than 27k miles. If the AC works, don't worry about a recharge.

Where can you get 4 17" replacements for $500. That's a screaming deal. Going price I'm seeing is $1200.

As for the car, market is probably low 40's

Kuhmos??? But most large cities have places that deal in used tires. Used 17" Viper tires in good condition go for about $75. Look around, get involved in your local car clubs and they'll put you on to it.

Thanks for all the input.....numbers are right around where I'm at.

I'll post photos when I get the car.

Cycleryan:
Should be worth 37k - 40k , Don't worry about the head gaskets on a 96 , they were upgraded by then .
I thought the fiber head gaskets were not changed to metal until the GenII motors.....the '96/RT is still a GenI car with GenII suspension. Is this not correct??

Thanks again...... :D

The Kuhmo 700 exta DOT cheater tires that I have on mine were $179 each for the back a little less for the front. That was what I was talking about. They do have a few drawbacks. They are soft and sticky, they pick up little stones, great dry traction but probably not long lasting tread. They have thin tread and will hydro. They have no warranty.
I guess that comes to a little more than the $500 I said. Sorry about that, but it's not too much more.
