remove bolts first from underneath the car, open door, remove plastic caps on the top of the sill then remove those bolts, then give the sill a pull hold on tight you dont want to drop it. It easier with 2 people to pull the sill off, you may have to wiggle it a bit
That Corsa install in the "how-to" section is spot on!
You may have to increase the screw diameter if the sills
have been on and off a few times, but no big deal. I've
done it three times already, and each time I get faster at it.
One tip I used....Use two credit cards to remove the
black sill plugs after you get an edge up with the
feeler guage.
The third time is the charm. This will teach me not to post after my bedtime. I didn't mean "straight pipes", I meant "high flow catalytic converters". I don't think California allows straight pipes except when I'm on the track, and not the street. Spent the day talking about track preparation on a GTS, and my brain is addled.
Same questions, but with the legally installed high flow cats, if anyone knows the temperature changes.
Tip, before reinstalling, flatten holes back with pliers or screwdriver. Take q-tip and touch them with something like POR15. Use a dab of high temp low strength sealant on screws before reinstalling. You barely have to tighten these to hold, everyone overtightens them.
I finished the install of the stright pipes and have a exhaust leak need better muffler clamps. but on the up side I loved the sound. I like the idea of flatting out the holes in the body befor screwing the side sills back on.
Now to finish it up and go out and make some noise.
