Silver Peeling Off Inside Door Handles

Is this happening to anyone else? The silver finish is peeling off. I tried crazy glue but it looks like crap. I found a used one but it is $125.

This part is vacuum-plated plastic, if I'm not mistaken. The life cycle is limited, it's not like chromed steel. I suspect you're not the only one this is happening to.
There are a couple of vacuum chroming shops around, you might try searching one out. There may be no cure but to a new handle, though.
