Viper Owner
Slight uneven rear tire wear on 98\'. They shouldn\'t be identical..or should they?
I just traded in my beloved 98' RT/10 with 7.5k on it for a new 01'RT/10. I had changed rear gears to .355's. Had Mopar "race controller" ECU, smooth tubes, and K&N's. The car performed flawlessly, and was (unfortunately) never raced. I took excellent, loving car of it. I maintained it to a tee and just practiced the occasional mild drag start. I drove it with fun spirit and enthusiasm within consevative limits when it seemed safe. This Viper had a caring owner.
When I visited the dealer the other day to check my old car out while I was getting my oil changed, I gave it a good looking over. The old Viper could probably use some new rear tires this season. I would have replaced them this spring if I had kept it.
The two rear tires were well worn, but not shot by any means. One of the two rears (I think the left) had a bit less tread left than the right. Is this normal? I would think it would be normal.
How many of you have replaced your rear tires around 7-8K? Just curious. Did I drive it hard, or just drive it like most of us do? Do most Viper owners replace rears before 10K? Which one of your rears is more worn?
Please let me know!
Sincerely,
Jim
