Just a heads up to you guys:

Watch out driving through leaves if you live in a area where there are many on the road. While driving my SRT-10 the other day, I arrived at a friends house only to discover my passenger sill smokin out the side vent. It turned out to be leaves that had been whipped up by the front tire and went into the holes directly under the front of the sill. That space can accumulate leaves directly in front of the cats, and they WILL burn if they get in there. A couple here and there I dont worry about, but I do worry about someone parking in a pile of leaves or driving through a pile- that could be enough to cause a problem.

I will come up with a permanent solution to this issue next chance I get.

Thanks!

This is easy to fix. Take the side sill off and pop rivet some 1/4" hardware cloth over the holes. You'll need large fender washers to hold the hardawre cloth in place. Problem solved and you won't hurt the ventalation issue and by doing it on the top side you won't have any sharp wires to catch hands on when doing service work.

Yes, I was going to do something similar, but with Stainless mesh.

At our last track event, I came off the track and the smoke was very thick. We attributed it to my driving in the rain last week. I am supposed to be getting my Corsa soon so will see whats under the sills. It can't be leaves, we live in the desert for gods sake.
