Also on the engine block of my 01 GTS. Can't remember the exact content, but that looks very familiar.

Not so fast, maybe it was. That writing means Aroiw I bet. That other sticker in the other thread has a date of 10-10-01 and you found it in a place that would clearly indicate that the car was completely assembled and going through inspection probably. Now you find dates on the engine indicating 10-22-01 That time gap is almost perfect for the car to have gone to Arrow if a problem was detected. And I'm sure there are a certain number of engines that were detected with routine issues that needed fixing.
No way would the build date on the engine be AFTER an inspection date found elsewhere.

If your engine had a problem it may have been replaced and that explains the later date also.

At this point I would be checking my build date on the door and the VINS on the motor to make sure they match. If you have not found the VINs on the motor I can send you a drawing of where they are.

The other possiibility is that your car went through audit. That's routine, every so often they pull a car from the line and put it through an complete check. Perhaps Arrow got involved in that.
My GTS had a card signed by the guy that did an audit on my car in the mesh pocket between the seats. Would you believe he was still at the plant at VOI 10?

And whatever if you find you have an Arrow rebuild don't worry about it for a second, that just means you have a better and stronger engine thasn your original.

I might just stand corrected!

Will check tonight... Motor vin visible without being on a lift?

Mech pocket between seats. Hmmm. I have alot of paperwork there. Will have to check for that one.

Cool! So the below comment would be 100% wrong? Interesting! Maybe once and for all we may find all yellow motors WERE supertuned - in this case outside by Arrow!:D

Only the V8's have those special markings on them. They use them at CAAP and to ensure only the yellow Vipers get the V8's

Wondered when you would show up! ;)

If it helps, the date handwritten on my block was approximately a month before the build date on my car (June build). I figured that was about right as old Vettes usually have a motor build within 30-90 days before the chassis build date. Is that about right for CAAP?

Robert, when I replaced my front bumper cover there must have been a 1/2 dozen autographs and day/dates in black sharpe. didn't take a picture and sold the car with the bumper. Hand built cars and the folks do take pride in their work! Mike

I've had (5) 2001's... All had similar markings on them, in that exact area... Not a rebuild... Mine were nearly that clean also... Tough to believe it can still look that new after 8 model years have passed. Little things, like those markings, are what makes these cars awesome. My VOI9 had some awesome markings all over it. When you looked in the door jam (behind the Body panels, etc, etc) you could see all types of writing. Neat stuff.

Sounds like union workers have a lot of free time to not build cars...but can become "Stephen King" writers...I hear a lot of people saying this and that about their Vipers makes it unique, just about every Viper built seems unique at the time and what /how it is assembled...this is what makes the car so worthy to own...just my $.02
