I thought I read a while back that the rt's had a different front fascia than the gts's, is this true???? If so, what's different? Will the gts splitter fit on the rt with some mods to it???? I can get one that needs work. Anybody tried this???
Thanks for the input guys,

Mitch :usa:

No, Gen II splitters won't fit on Gen I cars.
A Gen II front facia will fit on a Gen I though.

Gen I R/T from 1992-1997 had the same fascia, the opening is larger, and there is no large flat air dam underneath 2 inch versus 1/4 inch, nor does it curve to the sides by the front wheels. The Gen II fascia actually protrudes out further on the lower edge, easily seen when looking at the profiles of the two cars. The Gen II fascia released for the coupe came out in 1996 and was commonized on the R/T in 1998 along with the hood. Now the question. Will a GT II splitter fit? Answer is yes with some modifications to the splitter to fit up against the Gen I style fascia.

Mitch, my car's a 94.

Ask JonB of PartsRack about putting a Gen II splitter on a Gen I facia. He will definately know the answer, but from what I remember because I was going to do the same is that it won't work.

Matt, I know they're different, I think it's basically the opening in grille area. Got one that's cracked, will repair and make fit. Have bodyshop and enjoy working on my cars. Plus don't have the 1500 bucks to spend on one(wife runs checkbook). As a buddy of mine always says,,, "we have the technology, we can fix it"
Thanks again guys, this forum rocks for info,,,,,(you can all go and pat yourselves on the back now) :D :D
