I thought I saw a post a few months back regarding SRT-10 brakes being adapted for Gen I,II vipers. Any updates on this?

I asked the question as well, but never saw a post that said someone did this...

VERY interested if this ever comes to fruition.

It has been done on a 2001 gts with abs brakes. A Viper Tech at Redwood City Dodge did it about 2 months ago. But now I hear they are no longer there? Call Ted May at Valaya Racing 408-448-8811. He can tell you more about it. So far very impressive stopping. The person that had it done also owns a new SRT-10.

Isnt a major factor of the SRT-10's braking abilities due to the chassis design and braking dynamics engineered into the car as a whole?? I can't see simply slapping the rotors and calipers on a GenII to be any different from going to a bigger aftermarket set like the stop-techs.

I dont buy the chassis design crap one bit, it that were true then getting the big stop tech package would do nothing.

Daniel,

Your last comment is what people are most interested (assuming that it can be done)..

Why would you just go with stoptechs? PLEASE elaborate!!! Is it price/performance? Are the results not appreciable?

Another question - If a swap is possible, and has been done on a non-abs car, does the swap include the ABS electronics on the SRT as well?

you may be right, but can a genII car with stop techs outbrake or equal the braking of an SRT? im just curious here.

I don't think so, unless you change the bias. The srt has more rear bias. I love my srt brakes. Can't wait to get it on the track. I just put green pads on to keep things clean for the steet. One nice thing is the pads, calipers and rotors are the same, front and rear. A real snap to work on.
