I tried in vain to download a great Viper vs Vette article in the latest Sports Car International, but it is not available on line....it is a Euro mag but is commonly found on the shelf of the major chains, Barnes and Noble et al, if you get the chance check it out.
It really does sum up the differences of the two cars...they just ain't the same. As much as the author wants to dismiss the Viper for its "crudeness" vs the Vette, he admits to having so much fun driving the car that he is not capable of fairly comparing the two.
