This post os actially linked to my previous post about my buddys viper that Ins. co was trying to total....Well Today the chief adjuster came back again and spoke to Jon B. of PartsRack :headbang: and he convinced them that this 94 viper was acutally worth in the mid to upper 30's, much more than the low 20's they were saying..And with that they didn't total car and actually are paying out 28K to fix the car...My Friend Dave aka DGERE75 wanted to me to post his gratitude to all vca members for their advice and again a special to thanks to Jon B. for helping out the viper community... :2tu:

these are Daves exact words...

Today, through help from Jon B., I was able to keep my '94 from being totalled by my insurance co., as he spent time on the phone with my adjuster arguing that I deserved at least a replacement hood vs. a difficult, and cheaper repair, which is what they initially wanted. Additionally, Jon was able to quote a price on a used Gen.1 hood, so that they had something to work off of, when they claimed that they could not find one at all. I will be ordering my parts from Jon because he secured the claim in my favor, and volunteered time when he only knew me from the chin guard I had purchased from him earlier. I would also like to thank Adam96 for all the time he spent on the phone with me, quarterbacking me through this whole process. Because of this forum, I was able to save my car, and begin the repair process so that the car will be returned to outstanding form, and I will also be able to benefit in terms of cost, etc.'

I was on a 10 day camping/4x4 trip deep in the back country near Moab. Before I left on the trip I ordered an exhaust from Jon. The Visa number I gave him had a typo, my fault totally. He shipped the exhaust anyway, without any payment in hand. When I went back into Moab on day 5 my cell had a message from Jon: "I shipped your exhaust. Problem with Visa number, please call me asap". WHAT! He trusted me? Shipped without payment...Wow! Good guy and great customer service...far beyond what can possibly be expected. THANKS JON!

Why not just pocket the $28k and then sell the car. With a clean title you should be able to get about $20k for it. Thats a total of $48k. You could then go out and replace the car with money to spare.
