You are not reading what I said.
I said slowing down the coolant flow will not cause the car to run cooler as you "give the coolant time to pick up heat".
Slowing the coolant flow will make the engine run hotter.

Now, removing the thermostat will do more than simply slow the coolant flow. As the man said above, it will cause low pressure in parts of the engine and may make the engine run hotter.

All I'm saying is that the idea that the coolant needs time to pick up heat is not true.
The thermodynamics can best be spelled out by someone more schooled in the laws.
I think it has something to do with the greater the difference between the coolant and the air, the faster the transfer.

In other words, you want the greatest delta between the air and the coolant.
Not the greatest delta between the coolant into and out of the radiator.

If you say that removing the stat will make the car run hotter, I can't argue with that.
I'm only saying that if that is true it's not due to the coolant not spending enough time in the radiator.

I remember reading a very good paper on this topic by a company that made aftermarket water pumps for sb chevys.
I don't remember the name of the outfit.

They were big on having specially designed impellers on their pumps.
They were after greater flow without cavitation on the impeller.

If you looked at the stock chevy impeller it was just a crude straight vane type thing. Their's looked like little turbines.
As I recall their science seemed real to me.

I don't know if this sort of thing is available for Vipers
