Friday,

I had the pleasure of meeting a number of great people/ VCA & Non VCA members from this board and the alley. It was great putting names to faces and learning that Snake Bitten aka 'The Other Gerald' got up at 4! 4am for this event. Meeting Rich Dustman (Did you break into the 11s?), Tracy (Birvini) who didn't bring either Viper but came up in a C-5 <-blasphemous!, Scotty (Tooofst)11.7s, Tauron (KingSnake97) who drove the beautiful Blue and White Viper WOW!, Dennis (ZX100), John (J-Dawg), Isaac (PrvtJet), Patrick (PJ Young) 11.7s and alot of other great people. I had a great time meeting all of you and the little ones that I brought with me are going to grow up as Viperholics like myself.

Cheers,

Jay K.

PS. Who was that masked man in the silver Supra turning 11.5 and .6's all day long? His car was amazing!

Sounds like a fun time. Did any supercharged Vipers race out there? What times and how fast?

Speaking of NOS I need to control mine a little better. I should have tried them out my 12.1's at 122 tells all. maybe I'm tring to hard to hit 11.9 on pilots and a 100 shot. my 60ft were better with out the juice 1.9 and on the juice 2.0 and 2.1. I need more practice.

Jay...What a blast...after all of the pre-race trash talking, I got my asss handed to me on numerous occasions...Rich (rdustman) and I line up for my first pass of the day...tree comes down to green I'm say to myself "Where the hell is he going?!?" I am sitting and spinning and Rich is GONE!

I did finally get my little 100 shot of N20 working late in the day, and ran 122.21 mph...You don't wanna know my ET's...I think the best ET was when J SMITH (John) drove my car and ran a 12.488 at 117.37 mph (no juice)...

I too need alot more practice, and some BGF drag radials...oh and I forsee a new clutch install over the winter...

At least I didn't get beat by any vettes!!! :D

G, thanks for letting me take the black car down the track. Thank god I caught that vette. :D

Your car is so freaking strong. A set of tires and you will run 11.7-11.8's all day long without juice. No doubt. It felt stronger than my car. Could have been the gears.

Gerald,

You're absolutely right, it was a great day with plenty of hot sun, great people, and of course the Vipers handing out beatings to the boys in bow ties! hee hee hee. There was one race by Patrick, P.J. Young who dusted a Z06 with an 11 second run. I didn't see his time but he was doing 11.7s and poss. 11.5s with his souped up Venom 650R.
Rich D. was awesome on the strip as I saw the run between both you and he. It went down like you described. OUCH!
It was great hangin' out with you and the V!perAlley shirt cracked me up. I gotta go and get one!

First class event put on by the Illinois boys...

Someone should elaborate on the full police blockade of I-94 as the Illinois boys were headed to the track...Shut down the entire westbound lanes...rumor has it someone (or all of them) had exceeded the posted speed limit...

G,i'm gonna have to cover my @SS when your around
I might look somewhat short compared to Dusty, truth is he's somekind of fricking Hulk experiment,i'm normal minus a few krispy kremes.
A few desperados cannonballed it to the track, leaving behind a baracade of cops  An officer friendly from time to time doesn't bother me,but 1/2dozen,they waited for us on the shoulder,I saw em as I came down from a short passing blast with the rest of the convoy and they saw us.At that time we were at cruising speed, they hasseled us check a few credentials and sent us on our way.No biggie.
Sad to report one of our Viper Brothers with a beautifull 650r hit a black cat crossing the highway near the track and cracked the facia.
Glad everyone had a great time,R/T's had tops offs all day,no hassels by track owner. The track was preped but all the street tires shredding the rubber didn't make for ideal conditions for us ET street cars.
Thanks to FINISH LINE DODGE for sponsoring the T-shirts.

Hey all,
I too had a great time. it was great meating everyone. And plan on another event coming up some time soon. We'll let everyone know. Unfortunately the track wasn't hooking very well, 1.66 60' from cars that pull low 1.5 60' normally. Oh well next time all will be better. I was upset I could only mster a 14.0 out of the lightning, but hell its brand new. Look forward to seeing everyone again.

Here's my addition to the pictures...

Viper Pics from July 18th I got pictures that would rival Toby T.s efforts as his pictures both here and the Alley are some of the best. Tom that Lightning of yours was Amazing! Didn't you also line up against that 72 Caddy?

Re: TOOOFST Great Lakes Dragaway (pics)

Jay,
Thanks for the compliment. I get comments on the color all the time. I never saw or have seen that blue on the street yet, so Thats what I wanted. I had no traction in first gear. Could spin the tires all the way to about 50mph. I don't know if I lined up against the caddy. I did beat a TT 300ZX and almost held off a C5 coupe. Thats ok though cause I sat dead even with a C5 convertible the other day from 40-130. Getting some mods done this week. Hoping to get some 12's out of it soon.

G-
Sorry about that. Can you believe I have lived 1 mile from there for 23 years and have never been tere. Never going to that one again. If I would have had a little more lead time it would have been better. TOOF next time make the punishment fit the crime, you'll be out all night.

That would be me. Actually 11.1 was the best run of the day with lots of tire spinning. It was great to meet all of you, all you guys were class acts.

V10 MOJO, your car is amazing, love the carbon fiber. PM me the details for that, i might be interested.

TOOOSLOW (HA! Nice name :D )

WHAT WAS UNDER YOUR HOOD! I laughed as I saw you line up with the other cars (Vipers and Vettes). But once I saw you leave the line WITH them.. I stopped laughing and realized 'That AINT no Ordinary Lexus!!' Some guys in the stand said that you had a Supra Motor under the hood of your car. What's the deal on that sleeper that you pedaled to the track. BTW Great job on keeping the car's exterior appearance.

Jay K.

PS. The new Charlies Angels at Great Lakes Dragaway ;)
