Trouble opening the hood :(

The hood on my ACR is being a little stubborn. When I pull on the hood latch to pop the hood the hood does not spring up like it does on my RT/10. It just kinda sits there. I have to lift up on it near the head lights to get it to the point where I can free it from the latch. Is this a hood latch adjustment problem or something else? It's an '01 GTS ACR

Funny you mention this now. My mother was in town and I was showing her the car and when I went to pop the hood, it didn't come up as far as normal after popping the first latch, and the second release was VERY hard to move. I wonder if it's because it's pretty cold here today....colder than it's been all year.

That could be, but I haven't had any trouble with the RT/10 yet. I will have to double check.

YOu will end up needing to change Hood Hinge Lift Assist pivots between the hinge and the frame.Part numbers 4709074 4709075.About $135.00 a side.They bind up over time if you oil them they have a chance to not hold at all. Very easy to replace just a extra set of hands.You dont have to remove the hood or adjust anything to do it.

mine has been difficult at times but then gets better.....its weird
