I have a set of AB's spark plug wires I'm trying to install. Getting the *#&!** wiper arms off is impossible. I removed the bolts and I've been rocking those arms back and forth for an entire weekend without any luck whatsoever...it feels as if they're welded on...any ideas on how to get these off?

Thanks,
- Tony

Mine were tough too, and I removed them for exactly the same reason as you're trying to get yours off. :)

You say you removed the bolts...do you mean nuts? On my '01, the wiper motor has a shaft that the arm is held onto with a nut. (I figure they're all this way and you just mis-typed.)
Spray some liquid-wrench or wd-40 on them and let 'em sit for an hour or two. That helped get mine off. You might also tap them very lightly with a hammer to help break their seat on the splined motor shaft.

There is a tool glass companies use when replacing windshields. It is very similar to a pulley remover. Depending on how long and what weather conditions the wiper has endured, eletrolysis may have occured.

You could shoot some penetrating oil between the shaft and the wiper arm, and let it sit for a while.

How about a small gear puller? Keep the nut on loosely, to protect the threads from damage. After it starts to move, then remove the nut the rest of the way.

The key is to get equal pulling force (6:00 - 12:00) from the under side, it then slides right off.

You can buy a little puller at Auto-Zone or your local parts shop. Just tell them what your trying to do. Works slicker n' .... and the tool is under $10.00.

Yes, I meant I removed the nuts. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I will start with WD-40. If that fails I'll go rent a puller from AutoZone.

Also had a tough time with them, wd-40 is the answer.. Just a note to help. You do not have to unplug the wiper hoses simply temporarly tape the cowling cover to the windshield with the hoses intact until you finish..
